Stegia HQ continues to develop in a demanding customer segment. Our own construction in parallel with our production unit in Shanghai contributes to competence and the ability to handle larger volumes – important strategic advantages.

Management System
Stegia has a well implemented Management System that impregnates the whole business. Our global presence demands that our employees and business partners take responsibility, both for the environment, themselves and others. We have developed a Code of Conduct that states some obvious, but still important rules for us all to follow. We also work systematically with management, monitoring and improvement of our business to minimize our environmental impact.
The Management System is certified by Qvalify according to both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Also, the Management System is pursuing to follow the ISO 26000 guidance.

With a factory in Shanghai, we can offer cost-effective manufacturing and a competitive alternative. With our own design from the head office in Västerås together with the company’s production unit at Stegia Shanghai, we can offer a high level of expertise and the ability to handle large volumes.
At Stegia Shanghai, we manufacture state-of-the-art electronic and electrical equipment. We are specialists in the development and design of OEM assemblies, cabling and motor manufacturing. We can quickly deliver high-quality customized solutions that increase productivity by reducing assembly time and error rates. This way, we safeguard the expected electrical and mechanical performance.
Streamlining the process
Many of our customers have a large market in Asia, which makes it important for us to have a local presence. With our own factory in Shanghai, we can be present throughout the work process, which both streamlines and adds a smoother process. Stegia factory in Shanghai follows the work processes and procedures that ensure that the products and services that we perform or produce meet the high quality standards expected by our customers and certification bodies.
Environmentally friendly heating of train switches
With 60% lower energy consumption than conventional methods
Many disruptions in rail service during the winter are caused by snow and ice in the railroad switch system. Yesterday’s solutions for heating the switches are inadequate and cannot cope with the problems that inevitably occur in the winter. They consume large amounts of power while parts of the switches do not heat up enough and large amounts of heat are lost in the air.
Heating system of the future
Indheater offers the heating system of the future. With innovative induction technology, the switches are heated up to 100C in just eight minutes. The heat is distributed in a way that keeps the switch dry and prevents it from freezing again. Individually controlled radiators ensure that the energy is used at the right place in the switch for a highly efficient solution. Indheater’s heating system has an energy consumption up to 60% lower than conventional solutions.

Stegia was established with a focus on geared dc motors together with Micro Motors S.R.L. in Italy.
1995
Since 1995 inhouse sub assembly.
1996
We expanded our motor range with hybrid stepper motor and PM stepper motor together with Moons’ Industries.
1997
Our product range was increased with Canon Precision motors.
2001 and 2002
Stegia was awarded the Gold Award for excellent supplier by De La Rue.
2006
We started a subsidiary, Stegia Shanghai Co.,Ltd. with OEM and wire harness manufacturing.
2007
We started a subsidiary, Stegia Taiwan Co.,Ltd with our inhouse design of PM stepper motors series.
2007 and 2008
Stegia received the DI Gazellföretag award.
2009
Västerås headquarter expanded with a mechanical and electronics R&D department.
2012
We incorporated Stegia Taiwan Co.,Ltd with Stegia Shanghai Co.,Ltd. in a new larger factory located in Shanghai.

How do you respond to the demand for communicable products?
We always strive to provide our products with the latest technology in the market. In the series Hypergear and Hypermotor we have developed smart communicable solutions. HVAC example requires modbus which we have supplied with our products. In the same way as Factory Automation needs Canbus, which we also provided our products with.
Are you following the RoHS directive?
The RoHS directive is a matter of course for us as a company to follow. It is a directive aimed at reducing the risks to human health and the environment by replacing and limiting hazardous chemical substances in electrical and electronic equipment. We strive to improve the possibility of profitable and sustainable recycling of waste from electronic waste.
